The care and support we offer our pupils is pivotal to ensuring that they flourish in and out of the classroom. Pupils who feel safe, looked after and happy, perform better. One of the many joys of living in a tight-knit community, with genuinely small class sizes and a strong House and Hub system is that it creates relationships built on trust, respect and positive engagement.
At Eureka College there are numerous layers of care in addition to the Houseparents and Hub Leaders. The Welfare Centre team, the school counsellor, our Chaplain and House tutors get to know our pupils well and support, guide and motivate our pupils in equal measure.
Healthy lifestyles generated by sports and activities, enhanced by terrific food options and allied to education within the PSE department, underpin the sense of wellbeing in the school.
Pupils are regularly consulted about all aspects of school life both formally through wellbeing surveys, and informally in house and hub discussions. Pupil voice informs us as we evolve. This strong pupil influence empowers them to take an active role in their development and in their school programmes.
Chapel provides a short, but valuable sense of calm at the start of the school day and offers a place of solace for pupils of any faith or none. Community is at the heart of a CCB lifestyle.
We are proud of the supportive, friendly and nurturing community that we have created. The values of kindness, courtesy and participation are evident in everyday life and remain a defining characteristic of our outstanding school.
